We arrived to Hastings yesterday!

We were kindly greeted by Frederique from EFL. The students were sent off to their host families.

We were blessed by nice and sunny weather in Hastings🙂

For the next 21 days, our students will enjoy an amazing programme full of activities, excursions and social events as well as English classes.

This experience will definitely boost their confidence, independence and creativity while making friends from all corners of the globe.

By the end of the programme, the students will feel more confident communicating in English.

Tomorrow Sunday we will visit the city of Brighton 😁

Full day excursion to Brighton and a tour around Hastings

Yesterday, we visited the vibrant city of Brighton😊😊😊 we checked out the popular Brighton Palace Pier, the beach front and then we took a tour to the lanes. This area of Brighton is a network of narrow, historic streets known for their unique shops, jewellers and cafes, all nestled within a labyrinth of alleyways.

An amazing start to our summer 2025 trip to Hastings😁😁

Today our students got to know the EFL centre, the staff as well as the facilities. They took a placement test in order to identify their level and be allocated in their correct level. Also, we enjoyed a nice lunch in the canteen where they serve daily hot food for the students. After lunch, we had a tour in the city and visited the most iconic places of this beautiful coastal town😁😁😁😁

The weather by the way has been scorching hot🌞 🌞 🌞  a perfect occasion for our students to enjoy the sea side of Hastings and take a dip😁😁

Our students Alvaro and Ibai even had a MC Picnic😂😂 on the beach enjoying the beautiful sunset😊

Bowling at Tenpin Eastbourne and Beach time

Today we played bowling at the Tenpin Eastbourne centre. The students had a blast and also got to enjoy some arcades😊😊😊

Afterwards, some students enjoyed Hastings beach and some were brave enough to take a dip in the water😁😁😁

Our student Ibai got pebbled under😂😂 I hope a seagull does not find him 😂

Arts and Crafts and Crazy Golf by the sea

Today we had a very busy day. In the morning, our students had their English lessons like every morning. After lunch, we watched a performance from young adults with disabilities. After that, our students showed their creativity through sculpting, making jewellery or playing boardgames.

Afterwards, we enjoyed a game of crazy golf. Ibai and Maria managed to putt a hole in one😊😊😊

Alvaro and Serena had a typical sea side donut😁 it was «finger likin good»😋😋😋

Trip to the Seven Sisters Cliffs and Eastbourne

Today we visited one of the most iconic landmarks in the UK; the seven sisters cliffs. It is a truly special place with breathtaking views with unique scenery😊😊 Definitely worth a visit😁

Afterwards, we took a trip into the coastal town of Eastbourne.

Visit to Hastings Museum & Art Gallery

Today we visited the historical Hastings museum 😊😊 The students learnt about the history of Hastings through participating in a quiz, including taking photos and making videos. The best performers will win a prize😊

Full day trip to London and Thorpe Park

We have had a very busy weekend 😊😊 On Saturday, we visited the city of London😁 We saw the most iconic landmarks of the capital like the Big Ben, London Eye, Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge, Piccadilly Circus and much more! The students also enjoyed a relaxing boat trip down the river Thames😊😊

On Sunday, we had an amazing day at Thorpe Park and our students had a blast screaming their lungs out thanks to its thrilling and adrenaline pumping rides😁😁😁😁 an unforgettable day!!!

Visit to the true crime museum of Hastings

Today we visited the true crime museum of Hastings which displays some really interesting facts about real true crimes

The students had to complete a quiz as well as take some original and interesting photos to win the competition😊😊

Winners will be announced soon and prizes will be awarded to the most original creative groups😁😁😁😁

Visit to the Hastings Aquarium and Fishermen’s museum

Today we visited the aquarium of Hastings😊 It is a cheerful aquarium with a variety of sea creatures. Along the way, we saw seahorses, pufferfish, turtles and tropical sharks; not to mention Huxley, the Giant Pacific Octopus! Hastings Aquarium is also home to a host of snakes, spiders, lizards and much more in its tropical Jungle Room as well as a shoal of deadly sea creatures in the terrifying Lethal Reef tank😊😊

Right next door is the fisherman’s museum which is worth a visit. It is dedicated to the fishing industry and maritime history of Hastings😊

A very educational afternoon😊

Smugglers adventure

Yesterday we visited the historic caves of St Clements. We took a journey back in time to uncover the deep and dark secrets of the ancient smuggling industry. Through acres of hidden underground caverns, covert passages and concealed tunnels, we learnt about historic pirates, smugglers and bootleggers who used this underground hideaway to stash their illegal contraband.

As a note, we had to say goodbye to one of the groups from Brazil😔😔 we will definitely miss you guys 😔 remember, never say goodbye, say «good journey» and «see you again one day»😊

Disco night

And to end the day, our students enjoyed a fabulous night of music😊😊 The school organised an amazing disco night😊😊Our students had an amazing time dancing, meeting new friends and interacting with other international students. They definitely gave it all on the dance floor🤣 🤣 🤣 Well done guys!

Sports afternoon in Alexandra Park

A pleasant and sporty afternoon was spent at Alexandra Park on Friday😊😊

A football match was played between our students and other international students from the school. Different nationalities in the battlefield: Spaniards, Turkish and Georgians 😉😊😁😊😊

Some other students tried other sports like badminton and volleyball. Of course, we also played a game of rounders with our coach Huxley who explained the rules of this well known English game😊

Visit to Windsor and Oxford

We had a very busy weekend😊😊 On Saturday, we visited the beautiful town of Windsor which is dominated by its stunning castle. We learnt that Windsor Castle is the oldest inhabited castle in the world! It is truly magnificent 😊

In the afternoon, we visited the «City of dreaming spires: Oxford»😊 Known globally for its prestigious university, Oxford a city of beautiful architecture, rich history, and vibrant culture.

Second visit to London😊 😊

On Sunday, we visited the city of London for the second time! The students were grouped in different groups and had a free day in the city😊 They planned their own entertainment and had an amazing time!

Marshmallow roasting by the sea

Last evening we had an amazing time roasting fluffy marshmallows next to the Hastings Pier 😊 There is nothing better than listening to the sound of waves, socializing and indulging in a classic treat😊 It is definitely a quintessential summer activity!

Hastings treasure trail

Today our super students had to prove their skills in order to solve the mystery of local fisherman Ivor Bignet😊

They had to work as a team, combining their skills to crack the clues and unravel the tale😁

They did amazingly well! It was a very challenging activity which required their top detective skills to solve clues along the train route.

I am very proud of each of you😊

After the activity, we had a delicious donut at the beach. A flock of greedy seagulls swooped in and ruined our picnic!!

Visit to the medieval town of Rye 

Yesterday we visited the pretty town of Rye. It is a picturesque medieval town known for its charming cobbled streets, historic buildings, and unique atmosphere😊

We saw its historic castle and popped into the St. Mary’s Church which has the oldest church turret clocks in the country still functioning,

By the way, some of us went into one of the most traditional tea rooms in Rye and had some delicious British scones and tea😋😋😋

Selfie run and Disco night 😍 😍

Yesterday we had a very busy afternoon/evening😊 After lunch we had the selfie run competition! Our students were mixed in different groups with other international students and competed against other teams to see who could create the best selfie😊 They had to visit different locations of Hastings.

The perfect team won! Alvaro, Lua, Maria and two French boys😊 Congratulations!

You all did really well by the way😊

Then after dinner, we had another disco night! We had a blast! 😊 😊

Victorian Tea afternoon ☕☕☕

Today we had an amazing afternoon at the British Tea Museum of Hastings😊 This place offers a Victorian themed tea experience. It’s more than just a tea room; it’s an educational attraction focused on the customs and manners of British teatime.  

We had tea tastings, demonstrations on scone making and tea preparation, and even a Victorian carriage with a dress-up box! 😊 😊

An amazing afternoon! The scones and the tea were really yummy by the way😋😋😋

End of stay ceremony🎓🎓🗞👩🏻‍🎓

So here we are, the end of an amazing three weeks here in Hastings with incredible adventures and memories which will last forever. It has been an amazing journey full of activities, excursions and adventures along with fantastic lessons to grow their language even more. Hastings will always be in our hearts❤️❤️❤️

We also got to meet and interact with amazing people from all over the world which has been an incredible rewarding experience.

For the final ceremony, we all went to the meeting room area where Frederique, Steven and all the teachers gave us a warming farewell. We were joined by all the other international students studying at EFL and with whom our students have formed a strong bond, especially with the students from Brazil and Argentina. They are amazing kids, very charismatic and jolly. Our stay would not have been the same without them. They have brought so much joy and happiness. We will miss you guys.

Each student was given an end of course certificate with a warming farewell by the teachers, staff and other international students from the EFL

I am very proud of you all. You have been outstanding❤️❤️❤️

What another amazing year it has been! All of us at Fun Time English School would like to say a big thank you to EFL, Steven and all his staff who have made great efforts in making our stay comfortable and fully enjoyable!

A special thank you to Steven, Frederique and Gaby who have been outstanding in assisting our students with anything they needed. It’s been a real pleasure working alongside them as they are extremely professional and always offer personalised support❤️❤️❤️

I would also like to mention the activity leaders, Hellen, Eva, Rio and Georgina who have been outstanding and fully supportive and helpful❤️❤️❤️

Also, a big thank you to all the teachers. Our students really enjoyed the classes❤️❤️

Top notch students❤️❤️ amazing group

From the bottom of my heart, this is undoubtedly one of the best group of students I have ever had if not the best❤️❤️❤️ Every one of them had an exemplary behaviour. They definitely left a mark on me and I will always remember them as being the best group of teenagers I have ever met! Thank you for your kindness and support.

I am very proud of you all. You have definitely maximised your stay in the UK. Your English skills have grown immensely. Overall, it has been a very enriching experience for you all.

Remember, travelling and participating in multicultural English programmes broadens your horizons and opens your mind as well as enhances your cultural understanding.
